Visit Hidden Paradise in Gili Lawa, East Nusa Tenggara.


Gili Lawa, also known as Gili Laba, is a stopover spot on the boat trip to Komodo National Park from Labuhan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara.  It is on the north of Komodo Island. In fact, there are two islands of Gili Lawa: Gili Lawa Darat and Gili Lawa Laut. Gili Lawa Darat lies in between Gili Lawa Laut and Komodo Island. 

To get to the Gili Lawa, you can use the services of travel agents in Labuan Bajo selling a variety of travel packages of Komodo sailing trip, or liveaboard trip, with varied prices. As the Port of Gili Lawa Labuan Bajo is quite far ro reach within 1 day commuting, almost all travel agents arrange the destination to Gili Lawa into three days and two nights package (3D2N). Gili Lawa is too beautiful to visit without overnight stay, therefore the travel packages sailing 3 days 2 nights is the best arrangement so you can enjoy the sunrise and sunset there.

Gili Lawa, in fact Gili Lawa Darat, offers the best spot for watching sun sets and rises. The  landsape in Gili Lawa is dominated by hills filled with exotic expanse of grassland, which is yellowish when the dry season, and fresh green when entering the transitional season and the rainy season.

Trekking is the main activity you should do when visiting Gili Lawa. As the beauty of Gili Lawa will be complete when seen from the hill top. To get the best view, You need to climb up the hill. Depending on your time, You can either take a steep trekking route but faster or an easy ones but longer time.  


Trekking time it takes to get to the peak of about half to one hour duration depending on the stamina of each person is different.Any how, either route, the view you will get on the hill top worth the efforts What a magical view on the top. It is so breathtaking as you will find it.

Visit Tourist Destinations in East Nusa Tenggara : Padar Island


Padar Island is the third largest island in the Komodo National Park, after the Komodo, and Rinca. Padar Island is  not as famous as Komodo or Rinca, but its beauty is not less than these islands. The Location of Padar Island is closer to Rinca Island compared to Komodo Island and is separated by Selat Lintah.


As part of the Komodo National Park, Padar Island is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the island of Komodo, Rinca and Gili Mota. Althought in the Komodo National Park, the Komodo dragon is no where can be found here.Around the island, there are also three or four small islands  each with a unique panoramic view. In Padar Island, you will find pink beach that is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, or just strolling along the beach.


Visitors can also climb the hill on the island of Padar to enjoy the panoramic view from the top. Blue sea and surrounding islands will hypnotize visitors.  


Although trekking towards the highest hill will be very tiring, but visitors will be presented with a panorama of rolling hills and scenery was gorgeous and capturing the moments would not be boring activities during a trekking trip.

Galeri Nasional Indonesia (GNI), a state cultural institution in Indonesia, in 2017 will still be focusing on education and diplomacy program. It is reflected in  a series of planned program while at the same time open for public aspiration for other temporary programs. In 2017, Galeri Nasional Indonesia continues developing its physical building as well as other infrastructure in order to make it more representative as a gallery with International standards.

Galeri Nasional Indonesia carries education function for public as the main priority.As regulated in the Education and Culture Ministry  No.32/2015, the tasks and function of Galeri Nasional Indonesia is conducting analysis, collection, registration, maintenance, security,exhibition, partnership, education, documentation, and art works publication.

In 2017, Galeri Nasional Indonesia has planned  a number of  programs. The programs encompassed of national exhibition of fine arts, exhibition of the collection of fine arts belong to Presidential Palace, the Indonesian Triennale Contemporary Sculpture Exhibition,  Rolling Exhibition of GNI in Lampung and Gorotalo.

As of diplomacy function, GNI will hold Indonesian Contemporary Fine Arts Exhibition in Brussels and Antwerp, Belgium. The exhibition is a support program by Ministry of Education and Culture to participate in Europalia 2017 as guest country. Europalia is an International Arts Festival held every two years on the initiative from the  the Kingdom of Belgium by selecting guest country. 

EUROPALIA INDONESIA will run from 10 October 2017 to 21 January 2018 and will present Indonesian traditions and contemporary culture (with a special attention for creation and exchange) in numerous events (http://europalia.eu).

The History of Galeri Nasional Indonesia
The building was located on a plot of land in Konengsplein Cost no. 4, now called as Jalan Medan 14 Merdeka Timur, Central Jakarta. In 1817, G.C van Rijk built a Indische Woonhuis on the land with materials taken a manor house in Batavia. In 1900, this building was part of the  education  foundation building, founded by Christian Carpentier Alting Stitching (CAS) under the auspices of the Order on the initiative of pastor, Van Vrijmetselaren Ds. Albertus Samuel Carpentier Alting (1837-1935). The building  with the Dutch architecture was used for women boarding, as the first educational venture in the Indies.

In 1955, the government of the Republic of Indonesia banned the activities of the Dutch government and society. The Building and education management were then transferred below the successor,CAS and Lorge Vijmetselaren Movement. Based on the decision issued by the Highest Commando  in 1962 signed by the President Soekarno, the movement was banned and the Raden Saleh Foundation dissolved. Komodo National Park, East Nusa Tenggara.


Komodo National Park is a national park located in Nusa Tenggara Timur, or the East Nusa Tenggara Province. Geographically, the national park lies between Flores Island of the East Nusa Tenggara Province and Sumbawa Island of  the West Nusa Tenggara Province composing of three major islands- Rinca, Komodo, and Padar Islands - and other smaller islands. 

The national park was established in 1981 and was designated as Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1977 by UNESCO. Komodo National Park demonstrated exceptional natural beauty and hold the large majority of the only areas in the World in which wild population of Komodo dragon lizard still exist. Based on these values, the UNESCO designated the park as a World Heritage Site in 1991. In 2009, the park became one of the Official Finalist of New Wonders of Nature.

Komodo National Parks covers 1,733 square kilometers of rugged hillsides and dry vegetation that highly contrasts with sandy beaches and the blue coral-rich waters.

There are more than 250 plants mixed of Asian and Australian species in this park, some of these grasses and trees are fire adapted. The inhabitants  this park comprises also more than 30 mammals, 130 birds, 40 herpetofaunas, 100 fishes, 380 corals and numerous other invertebrate animals.

Most people living in and around Komodo National Parks are mostly fishermen which depend on the park's waters. There are three villages in the park : Komodo village in Komodo Island, Pasir Panjang village in Rinca Island, and Papagaran village on Papagaran Island with a population of more than 4000 people.

The Main Attraction : Komodo Dragons
Komodo Dragon (Varanus komodoensis) could only be found in the islands of Komodo, Rinca, Gili Motang, and Nusa Kode in KOmodo National Park. A small population of the dragons could also be found in western and northern Flores.

Komodo Dragons are carnivorous, cannibal, scavenger, and top predator. The main prey of the Dragons is imor deer. They also feed on water buffaloes, wild boars, wild horses, and long tailed macaques. The juvenile dragons feed on small lizards, rats, insects, and other small animals.  The mating season of the dragon occurs in around July - August, about two months later the female dragons will lay the eggs. Around February - April, the juvenille dragons hatch.

The Gateways 
There are two gateways into the Komodo National Park: Loh Liang and Loh Buaya. Loh Liang is the gateway in Komodo Island, providing visitors with the following activities : Komodo dragons and other wildlife watching such as Timor deer, wild boars, and water buffaloes; Bird watchingsuch as Sulphur crested cockatoo (cacatua sulphurea), orange-footed scrub fowl (Megapodius reinwardt), Sprangled drongo (Dicrurus densus), Green imperial pigeon (Ducula aenea), and Friarbird (Philemon buceroides).

Loh Liang is only two kilometers from Komodo village by sea and land transportation. Access into Loh Liang can be by sea and land. With motor vehicles, it takes approximately 10 minutes whereas by sea speedboat less than 5 minutes.

There are four types of trekking to choose, namely short track, medium track, long track, and adventure track. It depends on how long you want to see the dragons.Short track is reserved for tourists with a limited time. Tourists can take a short walk of around one kilometer  from Loh Liang to Tamaridn woods  and takes  a half-hour.
A medium trek takes you the route from Long Liang to Sulphurea Hill. The medium trek will walk you through dry forest and see water holes with Timorese deer wandering around. Once on the top of the hill,  the surrounding view of Komodo Island is worth the effort of climbing it.For tourists who love trekking, then the long and adventure trek is the right choice. Long Trekking takes you from Loh Liang to Banu Nggulung, while adventure trekking it takes you either from Loh Liang to Mount Ara or from Loh Liang to Loh Sebita via Rudolf Hill. By choosing this path of up to eight kilometer of walk then it is likely to see the cold-blooded animals in the wild roaming

Hikers on the island have to be accompanied by rangers armed with a long stick to protect from potential attacks of Komodo dragons. To get into the area of dragons breeding, you have to spend Rp 50 thousands, once entered, any kind of tracks you select, and Rp 80 thousands to pay for ranger services. Especially, for adventure, prepare a fund of Rp 500 thousands per 15 minutes to one ranger. 
 
The other gateway is Loh Buaya on Rinca Island. Loh Buaya provides visitors with the opportunity to the following activities :Komodo dragon and other wildlife watching such as water buffalo, long-tailed macaque, Timor deer, wild boar, and wild horse. 

Likewise, in Loh Buaya there are four types of trekking to choose, namely short track, medium track, long track, and adventure track.Short trekking takes you from Loah Buaya to Kepala Kuda, Medium from Loh Buaya to Panorama Hill, and the long one from Loh Buaya to Wae Waso. Adventure trekking gives you three alternatives  from Loh Buaya to : Golo Kode, Lengko Nggunung, and Kerrora village. It all depends on the time you have in Rinca Island.

Visit and Enjoy Natural Wonders in Belitung, Bangka Belitung Islands Province.


Belitung is an island in Bangka Belitung Province which recently has become a popular destination of tourism in Indonesia. Belitung is naturally endowed with beaches characterized by white sands and clear water dotted with big and small granite stones. The natural beauty of  of Belitung Island is alluring tourists to visit the island, also known as Negeri Laskar Pelangi, literally means the country of Rainbow Troopers. The name is taken from a popularity novel called Laskar Pelangi by a Belitung born writer, Andre Hirata. In addition to enjoying the beauty of stunning beaches, you can also go kayaking and snorkeling at this beach.Pantai Tanjung Kelayang is famous for its white sand gently sloping beach stretches so beautifully. On this beach, you can see small islands with decorative granite.

Pulau  Lengkuas
Pulau  Lengkuas atau Lengkuas Island is accessible from Pantai Tanjung Kelayang using rented fishing boats  with a travel time of about 30 minutes. Once you set foot in this island, you will notice here that the seascape is full of beautiful array of granite stones scattered surrounding the Island. In addition, you can enjoy a stunning beauty of this island by climbing Menara Mercusuar, or a sea traffic light tower of around 12 meter above sea level. Visit Mount Bromo, East Java.



Mount Bromo is a volcano with an altitude of 2,329 meters above sea level in East Java, located in four regencies, namely Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Lumajang and Malang. Mount Bromo is famous as a major tourist attraction in East Java. As a tourist attraction, Bromo becomes attractive because of its status as the volcano is still active and part of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park.
Mount Bromo is famous for the beauty of the sunrise but there is another uniqueness of this mountain is the sea of sand shaped by wide caldera on the top of the ancient mountain.

The Seven Highest Mountains in Indonesia, How Many Mountains Have You Climbed Up?

If you notice that,geographically, Indonesia is situated on the archipelago where most of its islands, big and small, are dotted with active and dormant volcanoes. In a popular way, it is suffice classify Volcanoes into the frequency of their eruption. Volcanoes erupt regularly called active, while those that have erupted in historical times but are now quiet called dormant or inactive.

The volcanoes in Indonesia are part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. The Ring of Fire is a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where a large number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur. In a 40,000 km (25,000 mi) horseshoe shape, it is associated with a nearly continuous series of oceanic trenches, volcanic arcs, and volcanic belts and/or plate movements. It has 452 volcanoes (more than 75% of the world's active and dormant volcanoes).The Ring of Fire is sometimes called the circum-Pacific belt.

In Indonesia, the active ones raise across Sumatra Island, Java Island, Kalimantan Island, Lesser Sunda Islands, Sulawesi Island, Maluku Islands, and Papua Island. The highest Volcano in each g group of Island or Islands is :

North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

As dominated by the majesty of Mount Rijani and the surrounding mountains, the north of Lombok Island offers stunning landscapes and long curves of deserted beaches, jungle and rainforest, with towering plantations of mahony, teak and other native trees provided opportunities for trekking and ecotourism.

North Lombok is a fairly new regency and was officially established on July 21,2008. the regency has five districts, including the Gili Islands, 33 villages and 332 hamlets, with a total population around 246,283 people. 

North Lombok is reached by two main roads, both in good condition providing different scenic routes. The coastal that runs from Ampenan all the way up west coast to the north provides stunning views of the many beautiful bays and beaches that line the west coast, as well as vistas over the Gili Islands and Bali to the west. 

The Pusuk Pass, a winding mountain roas that start at Gunung Sari dan runs through the mountains island terminate in Pamenang in the north. The drive upon the pass povides wonderful views of valleys and gorges, with rivers running through the tropical forests and small villages and dotted amongs the trees. Families of grey monkeys live in the jungle and come down to the road to beg for food from passing motorists.

The History of Islam at Bayan Beleq Mosque
The civilization developed in Lombok Island is Islam as almost 90 per cent of the people are Moslem. Wander about the history as well the remnants of it, just come and visit Bayan Beleq Mosque, the oldest mosque in Lombok Island.

Hand Weaving and Handycraft at Bayan Village
People Bayan  mostly make hand woven fabrics for use in ceremonies, either in relation to religious tradition as well as a person's life cycle. Traditional religious ceremonies, such as the birthday of the Prophet, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. While the ceremonies associated life cycle, for example: marriage, pregnancy, birth, ngurisang (haircut baby), circumcision, also death. Besides, Bayan People are also skillful at making handy craft made of bamboos.

Lombok Island is famous for its Sasak Tribe. There are al least three traditional village with traditional Sasak housing in North Lombok : the traditional village of Segentar, Senaru, and Gumantar. These villages are alternative tourist destinations to visit.

At the foot of Mount Rinjani, there are some waterfalls that have been known as tourist attraction. Sindang Gile and Tiu Kelep are two of them. Both waterfalls make up the ladder of water in a single flow. The blowing fog that surrounds the valley will taste so fresh.

The Mandala community forest is a tourist destination in North Lombok which is managed entirely by the local people and won the first prize in the competition of spring protection in West Nusa Tenggara Province.

Lomobok Island is a small island in Indonesia, but this island itself is surrounded by other smaller islands called Gili. In North Lombok, there is a cluster of three small islands, Gili, also called Tramena. Among the most ineteresting is Gili Trawangan. 

Malimbu Hill
There are many places that you can visit to see the beauty of sunset. Malibu hill is the best place as at clear sky, you enjoy the sunset and the view of Gili Meno and Gili Trawangan at the same time.  

Sire Beach
The beach is situated in the North West of Lombok Island, presenting beautiful landscapes including the view of Mount Rinjani, on the eastern side. The beach stretches 3.8 km with the curved shoreline and has white and and a mix of black and white sand.  

Stick Fighting
Presean or Stick Fighting is a courage symbol of the youth of Sasak Tribe. The fighting art of two men using rattan stick ( Panjalin) and shield (Ende) is a fighting art of high philosophical values.  The value in the stick fighting is how a young man capable of maintaining his pride because stick fighting is the place for the youth of Sasak tribe who have toughness, agility and courage which is so high in front of the crowd.

Mount Rinjani and Segara Anak Lake, West Nusa Tenggara.

Mount Rinjani or Gunung Rinjani is one of  around 129  active volcanoes in Indonesia located on the island of Lombok. Administratively, the mountain lies in the Regency of North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It rises to 3,726 metres (12,224 ft), making it the second highest volcano in Indonesia (wikipedia).

Climbing Mount Rinjani is among the attractions of Mount Rinjani National Park. The summit of Mount Rinjani is the most visited destination by most climbers as reaching the peak is the pride of visiting this area. Most climbing activities take place between July and August with the majority of them are students to commemorate the independence day of Indonesia on August 17 on the peak of Mount Rinjani and Segara Anak Lake.


Segara Anak Lake is a crater lake with the shape of crescent moon totaling an area  of 1,100 Ha on the elevation of around 2,010 m above sea level and with the depth of around 230 m. The area surrounding the lake is flat and large enough for camping ground. Visitors can also do fishing as well as soaking in the hot water with sulfur content. 

There are two main trekking routes available to reach the top of Mount Rinjani and Segara Anak Lake : Trekking route Senaru and Sembalun.  The trekking route of Sembalun as follows :
  • Mataram - Aikmel - Sembalu, 4 to 5 hours using public transports with hotmix road;
  • Sembalun Lawang - Plawangan Sembalun, 6 to 7 hours;
  • Plawangan Sembalun - the top of Mount Rinjani, 3 to 4 hours;
  • Plawangan Sembalun - Segara Anak lake, 2 to 3 hours.
The trekking route of Senaru :
  •  Mataram - Bayan - Senaru, 3 to 4 hours using public transports with hotmix road;
  •  Senaru - Plawangan Senaru, 7 to 8 hours;
  • Plawangan Snaru - Segara Anak Lake, 2 to 3 hours;
  • Segara Anak lake - Plawangan Sembalun, 3 to 4 hours.

Visit Old Jakarta : Gedung Arsip Nasional


As we know that the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI) has lots of important archives of this country. Initially, the building ANRI located in Jl. Gajah Mada, Kota Tua or Old City, West Jakarta. In 1992 the building was moved to Jl ANRI. Ampera, Cilandak, South Jakarta.

The Interior of the Museum.
The old building ANRI was saved from being a complete overhaul. Thanks to the Yayasan Hadiah Indonesia which is managed by a group of Dutch businessmen, the building was successfully renovated and used as a Museum of National Archives on the time of the golden anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

Now, the museum is no longer store the national archives, but still has a good collection letters from various kingdoms in Indonesia; photograph mosques and churches from various provinces in Indonesia; replica sailing ship; Officers sword; Dutch period furniture; and a unique map that is framed very nicely.

In this museum there are also cannons and bells slavery placed in the courtyard garden behind the museum. The existence of the garden behind the museum attracts many prewedding parties to organize photos and wedding receptions.

General facilities available are a parking lot, information center, toilets, prayer room, cafe (cafeteria), and a souvenir shop. Unfortunately, the museum is not yet equipped with the presence of CCTV cameras. For visitors who want to perpetuate the museum's collection and museum park hired for a particular event, it must get a license deal with all requests to the Office of Marketing National Archives Museum is located to the left of the museum.
