Anambas Archipelago, Riau


Anambas archipelago (Indonesian: Kepulauan Anambas) is a small archipelago of Indonesia, located in the South China Sea between the Malaysian mainland to the west and the island of Borneo to the east. Geographically part of the Tudjuh Archipelago], it is administratively a regency and part of the Riau Islands Province.

By Air:
Anambas is served only by Riau Airlines which flies to Pulau Matak, "gateway" of the Anambas Islands . This airline operates thrice weekly Fokker-50 flights from Tanjung Pinang's Kijang Airfield on the Island of Bintan. Bintan is connected by hourly fast ferry from Singapore. If you leave from Singapore at 07.00AM by boat to Tanjung Pinang on Bintan, you are able to connect to the Riau Airlines flight which brings you on the ground in Matak Airfield at 12.00 Noon. The airport, owned by ConocoPhilips for offshore drilling and natural gas explorations, also serves as a domestic terminal .


By Boat:
Best is to travel to and around Anambas by yacht or live-aboard from Singapore, Batam or Bintan.
Twice a month the Pelni shipping lines has a ferry, the KM Bukit Raya that calls on Kota Tarempa (the Archipelago's capital "City") on Siantan Island. You can catch it from the Tanjung Priok harbour in Jakarta, Capital of Indonesia. Sailing times are prone to delays. This boat also delivers almost all the necessary goods to the Islands.

Natuna Island, Riau

Natuna Islands, located at the northern tip of Indonesia. Bunguran, Jemaja, and Serasan are the three largest islands in this archipelago. Natuna Islands is one of regencies in Riau Islands Province, with Ranai Bunguran Island as the capital of the district.



Overview
Natuna is surrounded by deep sea. At the north end this island is directly adjacent to the waters of Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Singapore. In the region around the Natuna sea there are hidden rocks and spread out below sea level. So it is not surprising that once a lot of Vietnamese and Singapore who were stranded on this island.

Location


Located in the middle of the big sea, Natuna become very isolated and minimal of facilities. However, the Natuna has beautiful scenery, with panoramic views of the coast. Natuna has many potential tourist attractions worth a visit.

In this area, visitors can find beaches, such as Sebagul, Selahang, Setengar, and many others tourism spots. A number of locations even become a favorite for snorkeling, turtle habitat observers, and lovers of the underwater tour.

Visitors can also visit the island Senoa using "Pompong Boat" and trips taken around 30 minutes. By the local people, this island is often called "the Island of Pregnant Women". In this Island, visitors will find a turtle that roam freely on the beach. On this island there are also a number of swallow bird nest in the cave.

In Natuna, visitors can also meet one of the rare ape species commonly known by the name "Kekah". Kekah only live and thrive in such Bunguran Sintu Mountain region (Middle Pian, Sepang, Overseas), Ranai mountain, and Mount Niche.

Transportation
To reach the Natuna we can use small aircraft with a capacity of about 45 people from Hang Nadim Airport, Batam, takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Or use the cruise lines with ships Pelni from Kijang Harbor, Tanjung Pinang. This ship will return to the Natuna one week later. The trip by boat takes approximately 12 hours.

For fans of culinary tourism, on the Natuna can taste seafood, like fish head soup which can be obtained in the diner on the road Subrantas Ranai HR Forces, the Natuna. Visitors can also get original honey Natuna sold in shops and stalls in Ranai Natuna.
