What is Funicular?

One of the top features of the Montreal Tower is riding the funicular to the top. 75 people can take ride into the funicular together. The journey provides tourists spectacular views of city through windows. The funicular travels 6 miles per hour, takes hundred trips and travels over 800 feet or rail daily. The ascent takes less than two minutes to reach top. Travelling with digital camera or camcorder mobile phone can be handy to save awesome memories in pictures and videos. The funicular is the only way that works on a curved structure, allowing the vehicle to stay upright despite the incline.

Tourists can enjoy the visit to Montreal Tower almost all the year but remember it remains close for six weeks from early January through mid of February for its routine maintenance. The tower is open from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm for rest of months.

There is no entry fee for children under age four except elders. The older children, students, and senior citizens can take benefit for especial discount rates.
