Dubai, Most Attractive Tourist Destination and Economic Hub of UAE

Dubai is, one of the most leading tourist destinations not only in United Arab Emirates but also in rest of Gulf countries, located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and emirate’s northern coastline approximately only 16 m or 52 feet above at sea level. UAE was formed in 1971 from individual sheikdoms, it is a combination of seven states and Dubai is one of them. It is the largest city in the United Arab Emirates.
UAE was ruled by United Kingdom from First World War to mid 20th century. At that time it was desert and Dubai travel was done by camel. After independence, the production of oil was the major source of revenue for Dubai which put UAE on road. But soon government realized that these reserves are limited and they started to work on finding other sources. In 1980’s they focused on tourism, and started creating sources to pull the tourists. After the valiant efforts of Dubai government, tourism has become the major source of revenue while oil remained less than 5 percent. The western style of business opportunity and its free zone clusters the Port Rashid, and Jebel Ali attracts the tourists from whole the world. Today Dubai has emerged as global city and business hub of the Middle East.
Till 1991 Dubai City had just one tall building and it was too far from recent modern city but Dubai started some mega projects with many innovative big construction projects to attract the world attention. Soon the city of Dubai has become a symbol for its tall, and rise skyscrapers and now Dubai has over 400 skyscrapers including world’s tallest building Burj Khalifa (also known as Burj Duabi which was its old name). Dubai has some biggest architecture such as Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab (an underwater seven star hotel), The Dubai Mall (largest shopping mall in the world), and Dubai Miracle Garden (a 72,000 square meter) which plays vital role in tourism and attracts millions of visitors yearly.   
In 2014 Dubai again pulled the world attention with construction of artificial islands on the coast in the sea. The Dubai Islands are called as Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali, The World, and The Universe. These Nakheel Islands were constructed from sand by the Belgian company Jan De Nul with corporation of Dutch company Van Oord. Dubai Island is one of the most popular, amazing, and risky real-estate projects in the world. The Island is designed in the shape of palm tree with outer lying islands around it including villas, hotels, apartments, and numerous residences.
Today Dubai is the best city to spend your vacations and enjoy the creations of human. The incredible blocks of office buildings, the tall skyscrapers and easy accessible network of transportation including the Metro, the plenty of world class hotels, and resorts have offered foreigner visitors to enjoy nonstop Dubai tour. The sandy beach, resorts, night clubs, Disney land park, boutique hotels, sunny and warm temperatures makes it an ideal destination for holidays.   
Some Other Interesting Facts about Dubai:
1. The locals called Emiratis are just 15 percent of the total population. Majority of the population is from Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indian, and European countries.
2. Dubai has no zip codes, no area codes, no postal code, and no address system.
3. The golf course in Dubai requires 4,000,000 gallons of water a day.
4. Dubai-land will open in 2007 and be twice the size of Disney-world in Florida, expected to be largest tourist draw in the world with 200,000 people daily.
5. Burj Al Arab is the most luxurious hotel in the world, built on an artificial-island just off the coast. 6. Entrance in this seven star hotel is not possible without a reservation.   
7. Dubai Metro system is the longest automated rail network in the world, run 87 trains. It was opened by Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum at 9:00 pm on 09/09/09.
