Today is National Batik Day, celebrating the day when Indonesian Batik is formally recognized as Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO on October 2, 2009. Indonesian should be proud of the cultural wealth, Batik becomes one of the main icon of Indonesia in the eyes International.
On 2 October, the entire community of Indonesia including public servants, private, and even students are advised to wear Batik.In fact, today is Friday the day when government employees are wearing batik.
